Smart Surfing - using key words

Today in Room 9 we were focussing on using keywords to help us with our searching online.

When we searched for the keywords, instead of the whole question we found that it was easier to find the information we needed.

We had lots of fun searching for all sorts of information today!

Tomai found that there is spider that's leg span is the same size as a ruler!

Jayden found out that lego is not a modern thing, it's been around for a really long time.

Neeko found out that the body size of the smallest spider is 0.37mm - that's very very small!

Wyatt found out some information about asteroids bombarding earth and what happened after that... you'll have to go and see if you can find out too.

Māori Language Week

Today in Room 9 we did a digital breakout. We had to solve puzzles and riddles by finding clues that were on the pictures and the site. We had to put our answers in the form before the time runs out!

We had to think about how we could solve the clues. We solved the clue by getting some extra hints from Vicki. We found the word puzzle really tricky. Some of the puzzles were easy and some weren't.

Working together helped us to solve the puzzles with 10 minutes to spare.

The pictures helped us with some clues.

Here is the link if want to try it out! Good luck!

These are the Room 9 Students who solved all the puzzles!

Tuhi Mai, Tuhi Atu

Today we were having a look at our new Tuhi Mai, Tuhi Atu buddies. We have two schools who are our buddies. One in Auckland, Room 23 at Owairaka, and one in Christchurch, Ruma Rua at New Brighton Catholic School.

We had a look at their class blogs and at where they are on Google Maps.

We are excited about connecting with our buddies.

Personal, Private and Public Information

Today in Room 9 we were learning about personal information (anything that's about us), public information (information we can share) and private information (things we keep to ourselves).

Here are some examples of students work, isn't it amazing!
